Weekend Wish List November 23-25

I especially love when I can really experience all that is on my wish list.  This weekend is already full into Saturday so I will also include those things that I would have wanted to do on Friday.

*Clean piggie cages (done! and what a task.....new piggies are here and they have a mansion. Note to self: Rethink how to clean that particular cage.)

*Take piggies out to enjoy cage free time.

*Sweep house. I happen to love sweeping.  It feels productive.

*Clean litter box.  Really, this is scooping.  And yes it is on the list.  One thing I do not like is walking into a home that smells like animals.  Mostly my own.  I refuse to mask odors with plug ins or other chemicals like Febreeze.  I will use candles and incense though to enhance good smells.

*Read today's paper.  And then try to delve into yesterday's NY Times.  And then try to read another section from another day to chip the pile down.

*Re-arrange the hall closet where the holiday boxes are.  I really didn't think that one out when I moved in here in April.  So now things must move.

*Put up the fake tree this weekend without ornaments. Time to do the test run with the cats running up and plowing into the tree.  Squirt bottle will be full and at the ready at all times.

*Make an attempt to affordably enjoy a bourbon.  Mmmmmm!  This one is probably going to be the ultimate fantasy on the list as it may not really happen.

*Answer correspndence.  I really suck at it.  And would like folks to know that I really am thinking about them!

*Meditate.  Ahhhh......   I used to enjoy a meditation by Laurie Calbot called the Crystal Countdown.  I am currently melding that with Marc Allen's meditations.

*Talk a walk.  I would have said on the track, but it gets dark early and I'm still loafing around.  Flip's dog needs to be walked so my walk may very well be the one down the dirt road.

*Remember those wonderful affirmations that help me bear in mind that things are super easy and can be done.

*Write in my journal.  How long it has been.  A blog is not a journal and there are things that will not go into a blog that need to be recorded for oneself.

*Try to eliminate a pile or clear space where there was none.

*Remember to stay graceful for it does not come natural to me.

*Reflect.  Think.  Create what will be through my current desires & specifications.  I can't do that with noise.  I must sit and really think, craft.  I recall my days of working in NYC.  I had so much time to dream, contemplate, wish, decide, while I rode the train for two hours one way and two hours back.  The mind was fertile and burst with ideas.

*Check out the astrological weather.  Why not.

*Read some of Dracula.  I am still reading this book.  It's amazingly good I think.  I've seen the movie, but there is nothing like reading the author's words, and these words were writ in 1897, thereabouts.

*Attempt to see the last installment of Twilight.  Oh, how I will try.

Your Mama

How many of us had a Mother's Day that was any different, chore wise, than any other day? If you did, hit me up with a comment with your husband's name. I'm stealing him from you.

Being a single mama with a child who isn't Chore Savvy means well...that I still cleaned the litter box, guinea pig cage and the fallout from my ghetto portable washing machine that was hooked up to the sink where it shook so hard that it knocked over and tipped upside down a tank of hermit crabs that were nearby.

I only saw two hermit's since. The families of the other two have been notified.

Well here's what else I can tell you.

This:

Does not work.

This is a banana dipped into chocolate almond milk and left to chemically compose itself into a new and unappealing kind of smell (APPEAL - GET IT? Banana joke!).

The cup has been burned.

We spent a good portion of our weekend at the park or at Borders skinny dipping in a large caffeinated pool with whipped cream floats.

Yesterday morning we frequented O'Neils again. It was pretty darn good. Even after I'd pulled aside out of the eggs a tiny broccoli piece and a tiny corner of bacon. And spit out a bite gently into a napkin so as not to alert onlookers to my aversion to eating a green potato. It was almost a Where's Waldo smorgasboard all in two scrambled eggs! Who needs crayons when you can entertain the kids with this one. Humanling casually asked me in all curiosity, "Did we order broccoli, bacon or a green potato?"

Not in so many words we didn't.

The entertainment was fabulous. Here is Humanling (in her special superhero disguise) oblivious to the larger boys behind her who are pummeling a third, much smaller boy.

Today however, we went to the park where I could sit with my array of enthusiam. What would I read first???

I decided to finish Save Me From Myself by the guy from Korn, Brian "Head" Welch. He left Korn eons ago to follow Jesus. Very cool book and really, the guy is not a literary headspinner, but I haven't read a book that caused me to tell a friend who wanted to visit "No, I want to chill with a book" in a while.

We also have a Science Of Mind magazine, a Rachel Ray magazine (I had to get my own subscription - my mother clings to each issue of hers like she gave birth to it), a newsletter from our local healthfood store, my bargain yoga book to help me do moves to soothe my back and therefore my sanity, and last but not least, a book about growing up as a child in New York City.

Funny that book should be around. There was a couple on the grass behind me and the guy said to his wife, "What would you think about moving to New York City?" I hadn't exposed the book to them at all at this point. I'm pretty sure it went over like the lead balloon since I couldn't hear her voice at all. Then he asked again, "Well, what do you think?"

"Are you kidding?" is what she said.

So then I took off all my clothes and ran back and forth yodeling with the cover of the book towards them. Not really but I did put the book within view to see if it was a 'sign' for them to see it. Who knows. I love signs. Was I messing with fate? My answer is no. God put me there so maybe I was supposed to hear that and happened to have that book on me.

Glancing over at the Merry Go Round, I saw children, including mine, starting to colonize in hopes of someone pushing them. And then daddy pushed them. I'm not sure who's, but it was a dad for sure. This guy's problem was that he stood too close to this apparatus and then got suckered into pushing.

That's why I sit way over here.

AND this photo is zoomed. Objects in mirror are closer, indeed. And if you note the little guy to the left in red, lying down....

He horizontally made his way to the ground. Poor little guy. Now that the dad is touching him, he owns him. I'm not sure who this kid came with but for sure, he and his pedigree papers were leaving with this Florence Nightengale Male.

And here is where my parental skillz come to a culmination. Humanling is celebrating Mother's Day with a new family as she ditches me and my portable library and CNN camera that observes without lending assitance to the little boy getting beat up by the Hooligans earlier, or the merry go round that flings off little horizontal bodies.

But now is my favorite part of the day. The ghetto dishwasher is wheeled over and hooked up to the sink while Humanling sleeps and I happily write away, forgetting that I still have to answer a couple of emails before climbing into bed with one of those books that I will read a paragraph of before passing out.
Happy Mama's Day!

Day 6

Since I mentioned the number Six a couple times in the last post, it seemed like a good day to check in. Am I still seeing through the person driving the car in front of me (as snails pass us on the left) with a Soundgarden Black Hole Sun smile? But of course I am.....mostly.

Traffic seems to be the number one irk for me. And its not even Atlanta, GA traffic here. This is like owning a peopleless world compared to that. I suppose I will need to reinvent new ways of saying in a coaxing voice, "Come on, you can do it, you can turn now...I know you can", although that sounds pretty darn positive to me! Here's where intent comes in....do I mean it? Hell yes I do! I KNOW they can make that turn - and they can do it faster than they appear to even know!

All kidding aside (because I am Pollyanna right now with a skull barrette), I do know that maybe they are a visitor - to Danbury, Connecticut! Or perhaps they have gotten a small mountain of speeding tickets in the past, or they are blasted drunk and trying to overcompensate by their inability to get within 5 miles of the speed limit.

The week went rather well. It was almost effortless to cast any momentary whiff of defensiveness to the galaxian wind. I found that smiling, even though it could have counted as one step away from gritting of the teeth, felt way better and didn't make me look or feel like a HEE HAW HEE HAW in an old Looney Tunes episode.

My eyes sparkled at the wading pool on the kitchen floor caused by the portable dishwasher hook up that wasn't quite tight enough. I nearly handed out awards when the red easter egg dye spilled all over the beige tablecloth. I used that time behind the car that a human could have pushed faster from behind, to listen to music, sing or talk to God. I take those slow downs as reminders to connect. Connect with God, listen for an answer that I may have been waiting for, or contemplate what is for dinner.

My health diet has been mostly on target...however, (uh oh - a word that defies that it is actually going how I said that it would) there were some days this week considered 'special' with my daughter and we accidentally drove to Borders and had those towering cups of whipped cream and hot chocolate. I accidentally even asked for the peppermint candies to be sprinkled Under the whipped cream for maximum WC enjoyment. Enough of that! Positive things only!

Like the little weather bubble that pops up randomly on my computer to tell me how warm it is in Pinetop, Arizona. I am not recalling the moment that I adjusted my Connecticut weather tracking system in order to know how the folks in Pinetop are doing. Perhaps that is one of those *signs* that is blatantly being written on my forehead and I should be doing more research on Pinetop instead of thinking how quaint it is that their high today was 45 degrees.

Have I wondered yet how authentic my intentions are with this experiment? Absolutely. In fact, I am reverting to my childhood and figuring that until I get the moment exactly right, these are all do-overs. This whole week was fabulous - it wasn't a sky high OMG bowl of insanity and cheese but it was pretty dang good. I need to climb out of that American thought frame of needing something to feel like an electric shock to know that I'm in the right place. There is too much emphasis on getting that WOW feeling when we are exposed to so much that it can be almost elusive. Yet, at the same time, its so easy to get that WOW feeling if you pretend that you are on death row and don't know if you will ever get clearance to leave. Would I rather be on death row or would I rather shuffle the dirty towel - that I have in the corner for these purposes - all over the floor with my feet to dry it?

Some cool bigger than ordinary things did happen this week. I played nicely in the sandbox with people who normally can irritate me. My tax refund showed up in my financial Inbox. I had a fun conversation with someone who I'd only known by sight for months.

I am still reading "Law of Attraction". It's definitely clarified some things for me and made it so easy that it practically asks only to rub the jacketcover and make a wish.

Another book that is getting rather worn for me is Science of the Mind by Ernest Holmes.

I also had the prize winning feeling of two reserved books being ready for me at the library today. One is "How Starbucks Saved My Life" (coffee in the title! I have to read it by default of coffee a'mouration.). The other is "Zero Limits".

I'm taking off my bunny costume for the night. Eggs are glowing natural colors of purple, red and blue, basket is hidden and irridescent plastic eggs filled with Hershey's Minatures are in their irridescent bellies.

I just have one more thought:

Are guinea pigs supposed to sound like a video game montage from the 80s when you pet them?
