In Five Years I Will Be....

And how is your wish list going this weekend?  Mine is a little slow in blossoming, but some of it has and that's really the point.  To do something on there.  Although the inner Guard of Free Time wants all of it to get done.

However, now is not the post to review my perceived laziness.  Or lack of being a Take 5 winner.  Now is going to be my commitment to the Marc Allen book, The Magical Path.  And to find my bra, which I am hoping is in my overnight bag and not over at Flip's house.  My overnight bag is a super chic Stop & Shop reusable bag.  With double straps.  Unlike my bra.  Not needed.  Crystal balls, not boulders.

So the first pages deal with meditations. Wonderful meditations.  One of them involves seeing yourself after five years have gone by.  So while this is a meditation, and I'll definitely do it as such, I'm going to write this part down.  What a toughie!  First and foremost:

*My time is very much my own.  I am either working from home on a constant basis or close to it.  I may be working for someone else or I may be creating my own paycheck

*I do not have to get up at 6am unless I want to.  Or 6:15.  I can get up nicely around 7-7:30am.  Coffee happens, a nice breakfast....checking email, etc.  Writing time is good anytime before lunch or anytime after if inspired.

*I am creating.  Whatever forms it may take because it changes, ebbs and flows.  I write.  I create jewelry and I take pictures.  That's what I love doing.

*I may also be volunteering for an animal sanctuary a day or so per week.  Preferably with the crows but it can be anything.  As long as it helps.

*There is time for exercise.  Be it out at the track, a walk in a beautiful neighborhood, hula hooping or having equipment in the home at this point, it happens and daily.

*Yoga is prominent.  I do it now but not as much as I'd like.  I try too hard now to get the actual exercise in between mom and house duties.

*I am calm.  So calm. Serene.  If I feel triggered, it isn't noticeable to anyone except myself.  Life is magical.  I feel magic and joy with every breath and try to radiate this feeling to anyone in my path.  I still have my dark sense of humour because to destroy that would be to deny who I am.

*My home smells sooooo nice.  And without synthetics.  Yes there are plenty of candles.  Incense.  And animals.  But it does not smell like animals.  My home layout is a cozy and tasteful one.  Every area makes me and anyone else feel like we have entered a sanctuary of magic and love.

*I do see any concerts, plays or movies that I like without worry for the cost.  I visit NYC often. And hell, since this is sort of a fantasy, I may even have an apartment there.  I take in plenty of art...museums, history, without having to worry about finances.

*We eat quite well as far as vegetables and grains.  We eat out at times in nice places.

*I enjoy the company of my kids and any grandkids (I have the one now, but you never know when others will arrive!).  I see them often.

*All that I can think to give the world is my energy.  Any kind or serene energy that I can pass on, anything I can do to positively change a life, those are the things I'd like to give.

*I continue to learn much on a daily basis.  Whether it is history, magic or cooking.

*I have published a book or two by this time and it does well.

*I am selling photographs and/or have published a book with those as well.

*My love life....ah.....well, I suppose there have been very few times in my life that I have been clear with that.  Let's just leave it at a loving, trusting, faithful, passionate, humourous, non-judging relationship.

*I save money effortlessly.  I have plenty of money to take care of myself and those around me.  I have plenty to travel with and enjoy entertainment with.

*Travelling....yes!  I love train travel.  I'd love to go to New Orleans.  And Canada.  And Chicago again.  Seattle, Portland, Arizona, many many places.  When we learn how to travel through a blink, I will go to Paris, France.

*I will have no shortage of creative ideas that make me happy and also support my lifestyle.

*I will feel inspired regularly.

*Good health will be had by my family and myself.  My daughter's epilepsy will fade so far into the background that we forget she even has it, or it has gone away.

*I am a good friend and mate.

This is all that I can think of at the moment.  And now, time to allow those wonderful thoughts of The Life to float around my mind, while enjoying the fact that anything is indeed, possible.

And you?

Call me Maybe

I have been absolutely Lah-may at writing lately.  It sure isn't for lack of wanting to.  At some point when I am independently wealthy, I will be blogging away, for I will have all the time in the world for it.  There are times I'd love to be writing but then the cat walks by me and has crap smeared on her fur somewhere and I have to get up and try to clean off a greased pig.  Or, you know, something like that happens.  I still wonder about the presence of Flip and how that translates to me not doing all that I was doing before.  I certainly can't blame another person for what I am or aren't getting done.  So it's not you, it's me.

Right now Humanling is on the phone with her father.  That means in a moment, the phone may be travelling along the well worn hallway to me.  Writus interruptus.

But in the meantime, I grapple with balance and life. All in good and enthusiastic ways of course.  When the 'relationship' is in my life I allow it to move into those creative, fertile places in my mind.  And with the same crops being sown over and over again, the land is becoming barren, until I finally choose to rotate those crops yet again.

Recently, Marc Allen was on my show.  Marc is one of the founders of New World Library which is a kick ass publishing company.  He's written a number of excellent books as well.  He puts things in such a simple and accessible way that you feel there is absolutely no way you can fail at achieving anything you want.  I just looked at my bank account and am currently achieving making those numbers look like they did on payday.  Granted, things happen, holidays happen. Running out to the store to buy pecans for $7.39 just to re-create the stuffing that you made the night before because you left it at your mom's house and really really really wanted the leftovers is probably not necessary.  But it's a true story.

As is the two line story about a fella on Facebook sending me a link to Bourbon Enthusiast.com last night. Such compassion toward the obvious bourbon drinker.  Either way, he's a fellow Scorpio so I'll trust his judgment.  However, it does tell me that I post about bourbon Way Too Much.

The child is going with her dad tonight and sleeping over. Flip is in PA visiting family but has asked me last minute to walk his pup and is hoping that I shall be waiting for him in his drafty and dog scented abode when he gets home.  Ah, I do not know.  I will probably end up there but  have comfortably entered the land of saying "Maybe".  I enjoy limited time together and have come to really enjoy entering my sanctuary here.  Weekends are precious and I used to sit outside in the mornings and blog but the weather is sort of taking over and some weekends the To Do Lists are too tall to sit comfortably without Duty hanging over me.  No one wants duty hanging over them.

What I'd LOVE to do is kill some bourbon and go see the final bite of Twilight.  Money is scolding me otherwise.  So who knows.  There is much to read in this house.

I will probably be taking the laptop along with me for the ride to Cavey's house for when I drop off the Ling that is my human.  Pop into a Starbucks, enjoy something hot and write for a bit.  Read some Marc Allen.  Or right now, before I allow duty's claws to keeping tugging at the elbow of my sweater, put up a separate Weekend Wish List post.  How I love those.

Lovin' Eleven

How I would simply adore to write a witty and decadent post to start off this new year! What a gorgeous number – 2011! I’m not sure how it will play out as there are too many things on the sometimes porous/sometimes closed for renovations mind.

I am currently doing one of those things that I find super fun and relaxing – exchanging virtual farm wares with my good buddy, Dorothy Hopkins. I double screen, side by side, to write and gift, all at once. That displays one thing that I’d actually like to change within myself and have been trying to slowly get away from…too much multi-tasking. Once, (meaning, my whole life) I thought I was fabulous at the art of doing with 2 arms what I should only be able to do with ten. I can finally admit at 41 that I sorta suck at it. That means I only half hear someone when they are talking or half do my work while trying to research for my radio show. Many times, it results in that cake that is burnt on the outside and gooey on the inside. Even as I write this post, the Honey is bringing up stuff over and over again and talking so I’ve had to put it aside until there is silence.

Ah….silence. Sometimes silence means doing housework. But then mother’s guilt is softly rapping on the door as Humanling makes a snowman, all by herself outside. I’ve always been quite the pill when it comes to hanging out in the snow. I’m more of a snow wuss than snow bunny. I like sledding. For 10 minutes. Then I want back in the house with a book or the internet or kitty litter. Whatever gets me back inside. But right now, just perhaps I’ll throw on some jeans and surprise her with a snowball. I’ve thrown enough of them on Farmville. Time for a live wire!

Ok, post Snow Dude Idea…..as I got ready to go out, Humanling came in. However, she was greeted with the choice of me going back out with her or she could have hot chocolate with marshmallows! She’s a kid. Marshmallows win even if they were on a raw onion sandwich.
Perhaps this year is about being direct with figuring out what I’m about. And balance. I’m creeping more and more toward those things that I heart with all of my human emotion…writing being one of them. But wait! There’s more! I just have to get there.

I’m currently reading a book by Marc Allen, who will be on my Scorpion Equinox show in a couple of weeks. Small, tiny book, but KA-BLAM! Explosive with amazing and simple ideas.
I will read more. I will write more. And yoga yoga yoga.

But again, Balance.

I enjoy silence. A LOT of silence. Honey likes to share a lot of thoughts. Emotions. News flashes. Wind directional changes. Wind from his hindquarters. Sports tidbits. And. And. And.
So we need balance. I like having someone who shares. I like having time to read and write. The ebb and flow is essential to my nature.

I’m usually more of a Samhain-Intention type of person more than a January 1st chuck wagon dragger. But I’ll admit there is something to that shiny new year that does make me want to molt.

Key words this year for me will be magick, direction, action, balance, serenity, love, open heart and spirit.

And now after writing that, I should probably write it in my journal so that it will be available to happy slap me on a daily basis, lest I have a moment of Rotten Evil.

Happy happy 2011 to all of you, lovely lovely readers.
